Festival Castell de Peralada 2020

The mediaeval Castell de Peralada is the setting for the Castell de Peralada Festival during the months of July and August.

Overview

Internationally recognised for her personal aesthetic concept of flamenco art, María Pagés is one of the great renovators of this dance, without forgoing the more classical side to the discipline. With her great ability to turn a traditional art into a contemporary one, her flamenco is filled with pieces for all tastes. Convinced that in its essence, art bears a deep commitment to life and memory, this majestically elegant bailaora returns to the Festival Castell de Peralada with a new show charged with great poetic and aesthetic power expressly created for this occassion. In the choreography of Entremos en el jardín, María Pagés, accompanied by two female voices, a guitar, a cello, a violin and percussion, develops the harmonious coexistence of creative contemplation and the unbridled rhythm of the body in search of absolute desire and of flamenco music touched by the grace of sublime cadences. In this sense, poetry is the dramatic change of a journey of discovery of the “I” facing the nakedness of its nature, at all times modelled out of many shadows and a light or two that enables us to make out a faint line of happiness to search for it indefinitely.
