Opera star Elīna Garanča delights Kitzbühel. For Elīna Garanča, too, Classic in the Alps on 8th July 2023 is a highlight of her concert year. The atmospheric program, an enthusiastic audience and an unmistakable mountain panorama make the evening a special experience for artists and spectators alike.
Elīna Garanča and Karel Mark Chichon are committed to working with young artists. They prove this not only year after year with the selection of their guests, but also by launching the young talent initiative "Future Voices". In 2023, unique Friends and also the winner of the "ZukunftsStimmen" initiative will again be on the big stage in Göttweig together with the two world stars.
About the Kitzbühel Classic
Outstanding classical talents in Kitzbühel. Kitzbühel enables upcoming opera stars to give atmospheric concerts at top tourist locations. The young up-and-coming singers of the Vienna State Opera get the chance to showcase their talent in front of an audience and gain stage experience in a unique, idyllic setting. These special locations are experienced even more intensively by the audience through wonderful classical singing.
There are two oustanding events every summer - "Classic in the Alps" and "Classic under the Stars".
The impressive mountain scenery between Hahnenkamm and Kitzbühel has been the unique backdrop for "Classical Music in the Alps" for nine years now. The regular audience of the open-air concert has long appreciated the special charm of the event. The mix of classical opera arias and well-known international songs has a lot to offer for experienced opera fans as well as for beginners.
The regular audience of "Classic under the Stars" has long appreciated the special charm and flair of the event: the almost mystical surroundings of Göttweig Abbey, high above the Danube, form the backdrop for the beautifully illuminated open-air stage. In addition, a program with a mix of classical opera arias and well-known international songs, which has much to offer both experienced opera fans, as well as beginners.
For many years, Elīna Garanča and Karel Mark Chichon have performed together with young, up-and-coming opera talents at their open-air concerts. Not infrequently, these performances were followed by the beginning of an international career.
The town of Kitzbühel is alive with music and culutre lovers, celebrities from Austria and abroad and members of the press during the special days in July when the open air concert takes place. The elegant appearance of Elina Garanca, the exquisitely selected programme and the enchanting atmosphere offer an experience of culture at superlative level.
