Experience the romance, drama and passion of one of opera’s great works in a new way at The Traviata Encounter. Enjoy the first act of Verdi’s 1853 opera, followed by an immersive evening of food, drinks, and dancing in a transformed Opera House.
The curtain rises on the lavish salon of Violetta’s Paris apartment, as Act I of Shawna Lucey’s stunning new production is performed in its entirety (approximately 25 minutes), with full orchestra, chorus, and principal cast. This Act contains timeless musical moments such as the haunting prelude, the impossible-not-to-hum-along-with “Libiamo ne’ lieti calici”, and the sparkling tour-de-force “Sempre libera.”
Following Act I, the action moves from the auditorium to the Opera House lobbies: ornate, hallowed hallways that have hosted opera audiences for decades, and that for one night only are transformed into a not-to-be-missed party you’ll want to share with friends old and new.
Cozy up to the bar or explore every nook and cranny, as you’re surrounded with distinct spaces, each inspired by one of the remaining scenes of La Traviata. Enjoy the proper elegance of Violetta’s country garden and the sinful decadence of Flora’s gambling party. And dance the night away as a DJ presides over a raucous celebration of, and tribute to, Violetta’s remarkable life.
Each interactive lobby area, created in collaboration with the visionary creative team behind this production of La Traviata, features unique, themed bites and drinks available for purchase. All tickets are priced at less than $100, except for VIP Box-level tickets which include an exclusive, complimentary champagne reception before Act I starts and access to a dedicated cash bar during the rest of the evening.
Grab a date, don your finest or come as you are, and experience the dizzying world of The Traviata Encounter! The VIP reception begins at 6pm, with lobbies opening to all ticket holders at 6:30pm. The curtain rises on Act I of La Traviata at 7:30pm, and lobby experiences will continue until 10:00pm.
