Schönbrunn Palace Orchestra Vienna
The Schönbrunn Palace Orchestra Vienna is a renowned and internationally acclaimed Viennese chamber orchestra that translates the glamorous era of imperial Vienna into music. The members of the Orchestra are young, dedicated and artistically highly qualified musicians who have previously played in Vienna’s most important orchestras. In addition to a high level of musical quality, the Orchestra sets itself apart by interpreting music with a unified sound and always adding that “Viennese” note.
 
In addition to regular performances at the Schönbrunn Palace Orangery, the Orchestra has become an important ambassador for Austria abroad. They have enjoyed great success in Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Japan, Italy, Romania, the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, China, Switzerland and Croatia. Concert tours to Russia, Australia, Dubai and South America are currently being planned.

Conductor: David Scarr
Born in South Africa, David Scarr received his musical training both there and in Austria, where he completed his studies in conducting with distinction at the Vienna Conservatory in 1994. Scarr has since conducted orchestras, choirs, and chamber music ensembles, concentrating on symphonic repertoire, opera, and choral compositions. He has conducted productions in Spain, Portugal, Slovakia, South Africa, and Australia (Sydney Opera House), directed a number of world premieres, and recorded works for Austrian Radio, South African Radio, Classic FM, and Fine Music Radio. From 2002 to 2007, he held the position of Professor and Head of the Music Department of Rhodes University, Grahamstown in South Africa. In 2009, he returned to Vienna where he is a conductor of the Schönbrunn Palace Orchestra.
