American Ballet Theatre (ABT) is renowned for its world-class dancers of exceptional skill, artistry, and personality.

As America’s National Ballet Company, it embodies a unique aesthetic based on the values of versatility and dynamic harmony.  Under Artistic Director Susan Jaffe, the spirit of originality and innovation has intensified, aligning with the present state of both the art form and American society.

The original works of ABT have shaped the history and trajectory of dance in the 85 years since the Company’s inception.  This coming April in Seoul, iconic moments of the American dance scene, of which ABT is a crucial part, will be presented on stage. Ranging from George Balanchine, the most influential choreographer of the 20th century, to contemporary visionaries Twyla Tharp, Alexei Ratmansky, Kyle Abraham, and Gemma Bond, these performances will showcase ballets of an exciting and wide-ranging variety of classic, modern and contemporary styles.

GS Arts Center - Seoul
Location   508 Nonhyeon-Ro, Gangnam-Gu, 06141

The GS Arts Center, situated in the bustling Gangnam District of Seoul, South Korea, is a newly established cultural venue dedicated to enriching the city's vibrant arts scene.

Occupying the former site of the LG Arts Center, which relocated to Magok-dong in 2022, the GS Arts Center has undergone extensive renovations to transform it into a state-of-the-art facility. The main performance hall boasts a seating capacity of 1,211, designed to host a diverse range of events from classical concerts and ballets to contemporary theater and multimedia performances.

Strategically located on Teheran-ro, one of Seoul's primary thoroughfares, the GS Arts Center is seamlessly integrated with the GS Tower, a 38-story skyscraper completed in 1997. This integration creates a unique urban cultural space where art and daily life intersect. The GS Tower itself is a mixed-use facility that includes office spaces, retail outlets, restaurants, and now, a premier arts venue.

Accessibility is a key feature of the GS Arts Center. It is directly connected to Yeoksam Station on Seoul Subway Line 2, making it easily reachable for both residents and visitors. This convenience encourages spontaneous engagement with the arts, allowing people to seamlessly incorporate cultural experiences into their daily routines.

Beyond its performance spaces, the GS Arts Center aspires to be a multifaceted cultural hub. By hosting a variety of artistic genres and fostering collaborations between artists and audiences, the center aims to inspire new narratives and perspectives within the community. Its integration with the GS Tower allows for a harmonious blend of cultural spaces and everyday amenities, creating a distinctive environment where art becomes an integral part of daily life.

As Seoul continues to evolve as a global cultural metropolis, the GS Arts Center stands poised to play a pivotal role in shaping the city's artistic landscape. Its strategic location, state-of-the-art facilities, and diverse programming are set to attract a wide spectrum of audiences, enriching Seoul's cultural tapestry and offering a dynamic platform for both local and international artists.
