Experience the vivid colors and changing moods of Vivaldi's The Four Seasons brought to life by acclaimed violinist David Coucheron. In this beloved set of concertos, nature takes center stage – from the bright energy of spring and the shimmering heat of summer to the rustic dances of autumn and the icy stillness of winter. Coucheron’s expressive artistry and virtuosity illuminate every detail, capturing birdsong, storms, and pastoral scenes with striking clarity and charm. Each movement unfolds like a musical painting, rich with color, contrast, and storytelling. Both exhilarating and intimate, this performance invites you to hear familiar music anew.
The so called FOUR SEASONS are a compilation of four revolutionary violin concerts. Four poems - written by Vivaldi - are the image of the composition which shows us furious thunder storms and flashes, breaking ice and twittering of birds, barking dogs, a band of hunters and many more spectacular impressions.
St. Charles Church was finished in 1737. Four years later, on July 28th, 1741, Venetian composer Antonio Vivaldi died in Vienna. He was buried just a few meters from St. Charles Church at “Spittaler Gottesacker“ (God's Acre). Today, neither the cemetery with Vivaldi's grave nor Mozart's grave, exists.
Orchestra 1756
In 2006, Mozart’s 250th birthday was used as an opportunity to found the Orchestra 1756. The ensemble devotes itself to the interpretation of musical works composed between 1750 and 1800. The unique Mozart sound originates from intensive work with the style of the 18th century, historic instruments, and a balanced formation of musicians. The choir of the Salzburger Konzertgesellschaft demands responsibility and quality from every single member. Depending on the repertoire, the choir consists of 16 to 24 singers, which are chosen by strict annual auditions. Both Orchestra 1756 and the choir are submitted to strict stylistic criteria. The choir and the Orchestra 1756 regularly perform in Salzburg and Munich and published Mozart's Requiem on CD and DVD.
Doors open 30 minutes before the concert starts, no admission after the concert starts.
